Dear West Springfield Neighbor / Friend,
Short report today, but good stuff nonetheless.
Directory Delivery – By now all CAWSV members should have their copy of the 2020 Community Directory. If you were missed, let me know (john.t.cooley@verizon.net). If you would like a copy of the directory, but have not joined our CAWSV yet – you can purchase a copy for $10.00, but that comes with a free membership in our civic association for the rest of this membership year (10/1/2019 – 9/30/2020). If you wait to join at the community cleanup, it will cost $20.00 for the rest of this membership year and also for FY21. Thanks again to those who gave some of their personal time to deliver the directory.

Whoops! I suppose an inevitable mistake will be made in business where we don’t speak to each other, but rely upon text or email. Such a mistake happened with this year’s directory. No need to cast blame since it probably was me, but below is the correct ad for one business that has saved my backside more than a few times. Our Webmaster, Mr. Bob Havey (Rolling Road) is a wizard with computers and software. I have mentioned him often after he whispers to my computer to make it all better again. If/when I need a new computer, I contact Bob for his advice. Bob helps with website development and management that can be seen at our own https://www.westspringfieldvillage.org/ website. He is masterful in his business field and a real ass-et to our community and to our businesses. Below is the correct ad we should have run in the current directory. Sorry for my confusion Bob!
Driving 101 - Am I the only one witnessing too many distracted drivers on village streets? Texting while driving, speeding and a wanton disregard for our children crossing streets on their way to /from school seems to have become the norm. I once hit a child with the vehicle I was driving in southeastern Turkey. Even though it was the child’s fault and even though he was fine and even though I paid his medical bills ($50.00) and bought him a new bike (another $50.00) – I still wake up in a start after reliving that experience in my dreams. Don’t wish that on any of you, especially our younger drivers.
Take care; stay warm.
John Cooley
