Hello everyone. Someone has volunteered to keep the Santa visit going in our neighborhood!
Highlights:
- Call for judges for Holiday Decorating Contest
- Santa visiting the neighborhood 12/21/22
- Neighborhood Safety
- Calendar
1 - We only had a few families sign up to judge the houses who have decorated. We need several more to make it count. Please email me if you are interested in judging. You will need to patrol the entire neighborhood to make sure you did not miss any houses. The deadline for judging is 12/22/22.
2 - Shared from West Springfield Village Facebook post - Santa will be visiting the neighborhood on 12/21, 7:00-8:00PM, at 6805 Landor Lane. Hot cocoa and fudge will be served, but please bring a dessert or snack to make sure there is enough to go around.
If you would like your child to receive a present, please drop off a wrapped gift that is clearly labeled by 6:00PM that day. There will be a fire pit.
Thanks to the Mast’s for volunteering to continue the festivities after the Cheney’s moved.
3 - Please remind your family members, adults included, to be aware of their surroundings when crossing the street. I have observed near misses with people crossing Barnack at Rolling Rd while staring at their phones, walking slowly, and not paying attention to oncoming traffic.
If you have friends visiting, please mention that the streets are fairly narrow when there are cars parked on one or both sides of the street, and to anticipate oncoming traffic by staying to the right as much as possible. Please be neighborly and yield to other vehicles that are in a narrow part of the street if you are approaching it.
I also wanted to give a reminder that vehicles parked in driveways cannot block any portion of the sidewalk. This can result in a ticket if someone reports it to the police.
